Herman Upmann was a German banker whose love of Habanos led him to settle in Havana in 1840. He founded a bank and a Habanos factory in 1844. The bank closed, but his Habanos brand persists today, considered an example within one of the most refined Habanos with a mild to medium flavor strength.

The brand's ligada is made with gut and binder leaves from  turn down  .

The gold medals that adorn the box were obtained by the brand in no less than eleven international fairs during the 19th century, and constitute a characteristic element of this brand. With a vitolario that is characterized by its mild to medium flavor, the Habanos of the  magnum line.

to traditional  46 magnum  came to join  Magnum 50  launched in 2008. Other important vitolas are  Sir Winston,  Connoisseur No.1, and among the small vitolas  Junior Crowns  Y  Half Corona, the latter launched in 2011.
