COHIBA

Cohiba is the most prestigious brand in the world of tobacco.

It was created in 1966 and for many years it was intended solely as a gift to government personalities, national and foreign, and of course for President Fidel Castro. It has been manufactured since then in the prestigious El Laguito factory in Havana.

Since 1982, the year in which it was presented in different countries, Cohiba has been available to be enjoyed by the most demanding smokers in the world in limited quantities.

The name Cohiba is an old word used by the Taino Indians, original settlers of the Island, to define the rolled tobacco leaves that these Indians smoked, and which Christopher Columbus saw for the first time in Cuba in 1492. Cohiba is therefore the first name of tobacco.

The leaves used in the production of Cohiba are selected from the selection of the 5 best Vegas de Primera from the tobacco districts of San Juan y Martínez and San Luis, in the Vuelta Abajo area.

Cohiba has 4 different Lines:

The Classic Line, made up of 6 vitolas and developed between 1966 and 1989.

Line 1492 was launched in 1992 with 5 vitolas to commemorate the 5th Centenary of the arrival of Christopher Columbus to the Island. In 2002, 10 years later, the Siglo VI vitola was incorporated, an essential reference in the world of tobacco.

The Maduro 5 Line was introduced in 2007 with 3 new vitolas that incorporate a mature wrapper aged for 5 years.

In 2010, Cohiba Behike was introduced, the brand's most exclusive line, which for the first time incorporates mid-time in the blend of its 3 vitolas, a very scarce leaf from the 2 upper leaves of the sun tobacco plant, which It gives it exceptional character and flavour. Through this constant innovation, Cohiba is always the avant-garde brand that leads all trends in the Habano world, being the first to introduce a Reserva in 2002, and a Gran Reserva in 2009, which were made with tobacco leaves aged a minimum of 3 and 5 years respectively.

All vitolas are Long Filler, Totally Handmade.
